Employers in the tri-state area are being notified of the Department of Labor audit. As a result, Local #591 has directed the formation of an Employee Benefit Program Committee to proactively monitor our internal compliance in case our organization were to become subject of similar audit scrutiny. 

We hold a fiduciary burden to participants of all ERISA-sponsored plans and will safeguard all materials required to satisfy applicable State and Federal laws. 

1. Summary Plan Descriptions (SPDs)- all Health and Welfare Plans

2. Benefit Summaries – all Health and Welfare Plans

3. Schedule A/ 5500 – all Health and Welfare Plans

4. Census – detailing all benefit-eligible employees, including: Unique Identifier, Gender, DOB and Home Zip.

5. Carrier Invoices – all Health and Welfare Plans

6. Open Enrollment Communications
